Cards For Heros

I love a "reason" to make a card. My friend, http://www.ladydoc-tiltingatwindmills.blogspot.com/, told me of this great cause. There are some wonderful people out there making cards and donating them to those serving our Country. Check out the website, http://cardsforheroes.org/ for more details.

This card was made to send to Cards for Heros and for the SCS Limited Supply Friday Challenge. The challenge was to complete a card using only 1 piece of solid cardstock and lots of designer paper. All of the DP is the "Unforgettable" line from Close to My Heart. The small tag is the only CS and that is Sorbet. I cut the flowers from scraps for one of the patterns and attached small pearls in the center. The edges are ink distressed using Desert Sand (CTMH) and the sentiment is from CTMH's Friendship Garden stamp set.

Clean and Simple

I actually had a chance to complete a card! I do love these Clean and Simple cards. And, to go along with my idea of rating items as Frugal, Frivolous or Foolish, this card was definitely Frugal. It was done in about 10 minutes and the easy techniques make it look more complex than it really is.

The card is done on a Colonial White 6 x 6 base. The background is distressed and sponged in Olive ink. I attached the DP (CTMH's new Bella pattern). The stamp is from the new Friends to the End stamp set that matches the Bella DP. I inked the stamp with Olive and then lightly stamped it on scrap. I rolled the edges in Smokey Plum and stamped it above the DP. I repeated this step 3 times and then attached the ribbon. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Smokey Plum.

It felt good to get a card done!! I am also working on that scrapbook I mentioned in my last post too and want to get a page done today. For Now, Happy Crafting!

I'm Back

Hi Everyone....whew have I been busy...between the full time work I am doing, the long drive I have each day, working in the garden, the Open House I had last Saturday....on and on and on....I haven't had a chance to post anything. Work is trying...running a nursing home is a thankless almost impossible job...but it is what I do. :o)
I had an Close to My Heart Open House last week and just didn't have the opportunity to post the card that I had completed. I also began work on a scrapbook I am making for DH's recent trip to Paris. I didn't get to go as he acted as chaperon for his High School students. I will share some of those pages as they get done.

This card is done with the new CTMH Bella DP, Smokey Plum, Olive, and Colonial White CS. The image is from Inkadinkado and it is colored with my Prisma Markers.

I think I finally got my mojo back, but just don't have the time to do the work. Well, the good news is that I will have lots of wonderful ideas stored up when I do have time. For Now, Happy Crafting!
