Meeting My Next Goal

As I promised, here is more news about the goals that I made for the New Year. Remember, I said I don't do Resolutions because of the potential for "let down." I started this project on New Year's Day. I looked at my craft space and said "no more." I had no organization. I had no clue what I even owned. So, off to the store I went and purchased several "cubes." After all the assembly was done and the sorting completed, this is what I accomplished.

I have a spare room that could be dedicated to crafting but for some reason I don't like to be in the room. It is in the back of the house so I feel so isolated. Dumb huh?!? :o) I prefer to work in my rec room so all I get is this small corner. I have to say that I am happy with the layout. I chose the blocks based on functionality. I like my paper standing rather than flat; hence, the cubes with the vertical dividers. They actually had 2 cubbies in them but I decided to remove the horizontal divider for more space. I also was pleased to find 2 cubes with 4 drawers. The drawers are deep and fit many of my tools like my punches.

I was really lucky as the big box store had the cubes 50% off....WOW....I also searched and searched to find containers for little things. I managed to grab several items on clearance that are actually Holiday Items. That is why I used the Animal Cookies paper pack to highlight the the drawer pulls and cover the wooden tray. I wanted to use a pattern that would blend in with the Holiday colors.

Well, with my craft area done, I have met another of my goals. The real challenge will be to KEEP it organized! Let me know what some of your goals for the New Year are and how you are doing with them. For Now, Happy Crafting!

Woow Cindy it looks like a place of inspiration! Love the warm colouring - really love the 'baskets' on the top shelf...they're like jelly moulds!
I posted about some of my 'intentions' over the last week...so far so good!

wow ... wow ... wow, can I come and play :) I do know what you mean about feeling isolated in your craft room, I the same. Still it is lovely to have a place to enjoy your crafting. And you certainly look like you're going to have fun.

We have a spare bedroom that is ideal for a craft room, but I too would feel isolated. Sadly though, my crafts take over the dining room! Thanks for visiting my blog - no, I didn't make the flowers.

Your space is beautiful! Love what you've done to organize it. I don't like to be isolated either, so I end up at the dining room table. What a mess! LOL
