Snow Challenge Round 2 - Paper Piecing

Can you stand it??? The Mid-Atlantic States are getting walloped with a second major snow storm in 2 days! The snow started last night and around 8 inches fell. There was a 2 hour hiatus (it rained) and now the second part of the storm is just starting. It is predicted that Philadelphia will get another 8 to 12 inches. DH and I went out and cleaned the sidewalks and my car to try and avoid what has already fallen turning to solid ice.

I took the picture of my car so that we can have some fun and judge how much more snow we receive in the next hours! :o)

Now, since we are stuck in the house again, it is time for another round of Snow Challenges. The first challenge today is to try your hand at Paper Piecing. If you have never tried Paper Piecing, it is a fun way to use up small scraps of pattern paper and to add dimension to your projects. Here is how you do Paper Piercing...

Stamp your image. For this technique, a line stamp works best.

Stamp your image again on B/T Duo's Pattern Paper. This pattern paper is from the Unforgettable Collection.

Next, cut out the pattern paper image.

Attach the cut out piece to the original image.

You are now free to finish the image and use it in your scrapbooking and card making projects. I used a blender pen to color the leaves and draw the grass, I sponged more grass and sky and used a glitter pen to color in the center of the flower.

It's now your turn to try paper piecing. Don't forget to complete your card and upload a link either here or my Facebook Fan page. I'm heading off to finish my card and work on more projects. For Now, Happy Crafting!
